Please be advised that a dog in the local area has tested positive for Parvovirus. This is a highly contagious disease that can be spread by direct and indirect contact with infected dogs and their faeces. Puppies that have not completed their course of vaccinations and adult dogs who are not vaccinated, or whose vaccinations have lapsed, are at most risk. Clinical signs vary from vomiting and bloody diarrhoea, to sudden death. If your dog is not fully vaccinated, please keep them away from areas where they may come into contact with other dogs or their faeces. We strongly recommend bringing your dog up to date with its Parvovirus vaccination as soon as possible.
